Bang Bang Shrimp

Crispy with a little bit of spice, this appetizer packs a flavorful punch.

Sauce Ingredients:

In a medium size bowl, combine all the sauce ingredients then place in the fridge and set aside. Peel and devein the shrimp then season lightly with salt and pepper. In 3 separate large bowls, set up a breading station with seasoned flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in the 2nd bowl, and panko bread crumbs in the 3rd bowl. Season the panko bread crumbs with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and paprika. Bread the shrimp starting by dredging in the flour, then right into the egg wash, and into the seasoned panko bread crumbs. Repeat the process with the rest of the shrimp. In a deep fryer or cast iron skillet heat some vegetable oil to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Fry the breaded shrimp for 2-4 minutes until golden brown. Drain the excess oil off the shrimp on paper towels or a wire rack. Now you are ready to serve the bang bang shrimp on a bed of lettuce, drizzle some of the sauce on top (or serve on the side). Garnish with green onion, sesame seeds, and a little more chili oil if desired. Enjoy!
