Healthier Sweet and Sour Chicken

One of the most popular American Chinese dishes of all time, just a little healthier.

INSTRUCTIONS:

In a large bowl add corn starch and cold water and whisk till combined.

In the same bowl add brown sugar, ketchup, vinegar, coconuts aminos, red chili flakes, salt, and pepper. Whisk until combined and set aside.

In a large frying pan set to medium heat add oil and once hot, add chicken thighs and season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook chicken until brown on all sides and cooked 80% of the way done.

Add garlic, onion, and bell pepper to the pan and cook for 5 minutes until slightly soft but still crunchy.

Add pineapple chunks and sweet and sour sauce and let reduce until thickened. About 5 more minutes. Then add 1/2 of your green onion.

Serve with rice, I prefer jasmine rice cooked in chicken stock.

Garnish with green onion and sesame seeds.
