Salmon Burgers

You can call them salmon burgers or salmon croquettes. It doesn’t matter. Either way they’re just as good.

Burger Toppings:

Sauce Ingredients:

In a medium size bowl combine all the sauce ingredients, mix and set aside.

On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper add the salmon and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Bake in the oven set to 350 degrees Fahrenheit for around 10-15 minutes or until the salmon is cooked medium rare. Let cool.

In a large pan on medium heat, add a little olive oil then sauté the onion, celery, and red bell pepper until soft. Season with salt and pepper then add the garlic and sauté until fragrant. Let cool.

To a large bowl, add the cooled shredded salmon with the skin removed, sautéd veggies, mayo, breadcrumbs, oregano, thyme, paprika, 2 tsp garlic powder, 2 tsp onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix, taste, and adjust the seasoning then add 2 beaten eggs. Mix until combined then form into burger patties.

In a large pan on medium heat add a little butter and oil. Pan fry the salmon patties until golden brown on the outside and until 145 degrees Fahrenheit internally when cooked through.

Now it’s time to build the burger by toasting the buns, adding some sauce, a salmon patty, caramelized onions, sliced tomato, and lettuce.
